For more than a decade this happy little sciuridae screaming into the void has represented the online alter ego of one HammerheadFistpunch, aka Patrick Rich. Why a squirrel? I suppose I’ve always loved the way this family looks out for one another, standing up on a watchtower and sounding the warning. I admire the courage they show, choosing to expose themselves for the benefit of the group. The way they compile vital information and distill it down to unambiguous communication to take action. While I didn’t know it years ago when I picked this picture, this little fellow would come to be more than just a wacky name and image, but a representation of what I strive to be.
My rule is that communication should equal clarity. It should be unambiguous and drive action. Those who have knowledge should be proud to share what they have for the benefit of all, even at great personal risk. This is who I am.
